The T SpotThe kimono is not just the traditional Japanese garment. It is almost a major Asian influence to fashion. Recall the Obi belts, the Kimono sleeves, wrap dresses and traditional Japanese prints in our usual outfits. Miss Glitzy thinks the Japanese Kimono, together with the Chinese qipao, have strong impact on the Asian style that is integrated in the “East meet West”  interpretations of fashion today.

Miss Glitzy had a chance to catch the Kimono on runway in Kyoto recently. And this was no glitzy fashion festival but a pretty decent fashion show put up by the Nishijin textile centre, which is the information centre for Kimono!

Each outfit oozes details from head to toe. Miss Glitzy just doesn’t understand why the Japanese decided to match such glamorous and colourful garments with clogs.

And here’s a video of the Kimono fashion show – on Glitz Channel!
