I was invited by Clarins to experience a Skin Time session last weekend. During the 30-minute consultation, the beauty advisor analysed my skin and introduced me suitable products that I could use and right methods of applying them.

As you can tell from the photo, I was in the middle of Orchard Road – sans makeup and with a face mask!

The beauty advisor first removed my makeup and identified my problem areas. I had combination skin, large pores, fatty eye lids and recently, some acne. Next she cleansed my face and applied the Clarins Pure and Radiant Mask. After the “masking”, it was time for serum and shaping!

I lost count of the amount of products that I tried in the entire skincare regime – probably around ten, including three products which could help to lift and firm my eye area.

The Defining Eye Lift (left) really piqued my interest because it can be used to reduce my fatty eye lids! I was taught how to best apply the products – by patting, lifting and massaging, not rubbing.

I was given some samples to try at the end of the session, so I could also apply what I have learnt into my daily skincare regime.

For those who are new to Clarins and are interested to find out about their range of products, I strongly recommend you to spare 30 minutes for a Skin Time session. The session is free-of-charge and you get pampered by the beauty advisor with Clarins products. Most importantly, you can narrow down a few products that are suitable for your problem areas and learn the correct way of applying them.

There is also no obligation to make a purchase on the spot. You can always go back, clear your head and think about the question of to buy or not to buy.

For the time-strapped, there is also a Skin Time 15, which is a 15-minute session but the products are tested on your arms instead. I think to get the essence of such a consultation, the full 30-minute session is the best option as you see the effects of the products on your face and at the same time, learn beauty tips.
