I was introduced to Norma Teint by the folks at Vichy 2 weeks ago. It is no secret that my skin is oily, and apparently, this foundation has a matte finish and is very good in sebum control.

Available in 3 shades – 01, 03 and 05 – the Norma Teint (S$39) is packed with SPF 20 and looks like a tinted moisturizer. Don’t be deceived by its looks. This is a foundation, not a moisturizer. And unlike most liquid foundations, the product has a light texture and you need to work it after a good moisturizer in order to spread and blend it on your face evenly.

So, this is how I use the Norma Teint:

Step 1. Apply my usual toner, serum and moisturizer on my face.

Step 2. Smooth the Norma Teint on my face, sometimes using my fingers to pat the foundation on face so as to blend nicely. I find it a bit tricky to apply the liquid foundation with a brush. As it sets and mattifies fast, apply a little at a time.

Step 3. For a more dewy finish and longer staying power, apply loose face powder. I opted for my non-comedogenic mineral foundation.

Took the above picture without applying any powder. The finishing is a bit “raw” but the coverage is pretty good. I was able to cover most of my blemishes and redness.

1. The product has very light texture which I enjoyed. Despite its liquid form, once you start patting or spreading the foundation, you could feel a powdery finish. I could probably describe it as “powder foundation packed in a tube”.

2. The Norma Teint has above average oil control and does not streak at all. After a 10-hour day without much blotting, there were traces of oil on my face, although it was less oily compared to the previous foundations I have used.

3. The foundation wears off rather easily, probably due to its powdery texture. If you are looking at more lasting makeup, a face powder on top of the foundation is essential.

4. At 30ml, the tube is handy and easy to carry on-the-go.

If you are looking for a foundation that is easy to apply and has a silky finish, Norma Teint is probably not a good choice. It is great for those who have acne problems or breakouts because of its light texture and oil control benefits. So, if you are looking for a foundation that doesn’t worsen your pimple breakouts, the Norma Teint is a suitable option.
