I was wearing a Bollywood-inspired dress from BCBG Max Azria, watch courtesy of Triwa and loafer heels courtesy of Rockport.

I will share my experience with Rockport shoes in another post. I am always on a search for comfortable and presentable heels that can last me 5 days every week. This is quite a far cry from a few years ago, when I was still a freshie in the work force. I never believed in wearing heels. I am quite tall to begin with, so there is no need to add another few inches to my height. I also presumed that comfort preceded beauty as you will not look good if you aren’t able to even walk properly.

One day, a colleague commented, “You have some lovely dresses, but you really should match them with decent heels. The heels change your posture and the proportion of your body immediately.”

For a few weeks, I observed the CBD crowd and yes, my colleague was right. Somehow, those who wore heels looked more well-groomed and polished than those who didn’t.

It was then I decided to accept my colleague’s suggestion – and started wearing heels. I worked with kitten heels and then progressed to 1.5 to 2 inches. Admittedly, I am still unable to wear those 3-inch stilettos and I tend to look for chunky heels which are a lot easier to walk on.

There you have it, I am a late-bloomer when it comes to shoes. Till today, my choices of shoes are often safe and conventional but at least my footwear collection has increased. Given my shoe size (size 41), I tend to shop online.

Where do you usually buy shoes from? Do you have problem looking for the “perfect” shoes?
