I kinda declared last month that I was on a shopping ban. Obviously I turned naughty and before the year came to a close, I was drawn to a pair of something. Distraught and lost, I posted the picture on my Facebook page to seek some opinion.

Needless to say, I caved in…

Well, this pair of Salvatore Ferragamo Vara pumps was selling at 40% off, and I have been thinking of getting a pair of Vara for a while. The design is timeless and apparently these shoes last for generations because Ms Armotif inherited a mint pair of black Vara from her mom.

The Ferragamo Vara is one of the most iconic designs from House of Ferragamo. However, this design did not come from Salvatore Ferragamo, but his eldest daughter Fiamma in 1978. Fiamma wanted to combine elegance with comfort and decided to design a pair of low-heeled shoes (3cm) with a buckle and belt in front. This Vara buckle has subsequently became a signature in various Ferragamo designs.

My Vara collection now consists of shoes and wallet.

I hope these pumps will really stand the test of time. Light colour is a tad hard to maintain but who knows, my unconceived daughter could inherit something classic from me too!

PS: Besides the Vara, there are other Ferragamo shoes and bags on discount, with prices slashed up to 60%. Check out the sale at Salvatore Ferragamo boutiques in Paragon, Takashimaya or Ion Orchard.
