The annual Audi Fashion Festival is coming to town again! Opening on 13th May, this year’s festival brings in a good mix of international and regional designers on the runway as well as international-acclaimed big names to Singapore.

Tickets are already on sale at $63-123 per ticket on Sistic. I have picked up some shows which I am kinda looking forward to!

13th May 2011, 7pm: Opening Show featuring Missoni AW 2011

I foresee the opening show to be rather fun and upbeat with the quirky mix of printed apparels on the runway. What is unique to the Missoni latest AW RTW collection is the paradox of edgy and romantic elements. We see the label’s signature bold printed knits now in soft, dreamy pastels.

Tao Okamoto, a supermodel with Japanese heritage, will be walking the runway of this opening show.

14th May 2011, 7pm: Erdem AW 2011 (Tickets not for sale)

I have seen a lot of Erdem designs on Net-A-Porter and Outnet and never fail to cast a second glance on the feminine dresses. Contrary to Missoni’s collection, Erdem’s AW offerings are mostly of darker shades and with more opulence. The outfits exude mysterious and abstract vibes, as well as some understated glamour. The London-based designer of Erdem, Erdem Moralioglu, will also be in town for this event!

16th May 2011, 9pm: Greyhound AW 2011

The Thai label reminds me a bit of alldressedup, which is presenting a show at AFF the following day. Comprising of both ladies and menswear, the overall fashion philosophy is simple, sensible and chic. The above pictures are from Greyhound Original Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

17th May 2011, 7pm: Antonio Berardi AW 2011

Pardon me for my ignorance, I have never heard of this designer before. The Italian-English designer has a rather different artistic direction as compared to Erdem or Missoni. His AW 2011 collection features more dimensional outerwear. I wonder if the sheer lace pieces will make their way here in Singapore. Who has the guts and figure to wear that see through (front and back) lace dress as seen on the extreme right?

19th May 2011, 7pm: Closing Show Emanuel Ungaro AW 2011

You may not have heard of Ungaro but I’m sure you have heard of Lindsay Lohan. Ungaro is the French design house who briefly hired Lindsay Lohan to do a capsule collection. That collection received a lot of flak. But fret not, the AW 2011 collection showing on AFF will be designed by British fashion designer Giles Deacon. Expect a variety of sexy dominatrix black outfits and perhaps, tonnes of mega power ponytails!
