I have introduced La Mer Collections watches a while ago, and since I’m in NY, I visited the showroom to check out the different collections of La Mer watches and experience them first-hand.

La Mer watches in all shapes and colours.

Most of the watches have rectangular watch face, but the newest collection comes with round watch face. I particular like the chain or charm wrap watches (as compared to the simple wrap ones).

Tried on one of the watches. The watch is surprisingly lightweight and isn’t too bogged down by the charms at all. The leather strap is very thin and light, which doesn’t weight on your wrist. But similarly, this means that the leather strap isn’t too sturdy and will not be able to endure extreme wear and tear.

Another watch with charms with patented leather strap. As you can see, you can wrap the watch anyway you want. The watchface first followed by two rounds of strap, or have the watchface in the middle. It’s all up to you.

Close-up of the charms. Did you spy the fortune cookie?

Other than watches with charms, you could opt for simple wrap watch with studded leather straps.

Overall, these watches are great accessory pieces. Although they are all hand-assembled, the price tag is rather affordable (US$80-190).  While one should not hold too much expectation on its durability as this watch is not one that would “rough it out” with you, La Mer offers replacement of leather straps at an affordable rate so you could consider that option if you have worn out your watch. To be honest, I left the showroom still rather smitten by these lovelies.

What about you? I am wondering if I should CP these watches back to Singapore for those who are interested. Please drop me a comment or email to let me know your thoughts! You can check out the complete La Mer collections on their website here.
