Raoul recently showcased their upcoming Cruise collection and what immediately caught my attention were the Shirt Dresses.

The shirt dress is often an interesting play of androgyny and feminineness. In Raoul’s Cruise collection, these shirt dresses are brightly coloured in soft georgette silk, but contrasted with handsome white collars. They could be casual, playful and versatile.

Alright, this dress doesn’t comes with white collar but it looks quite adorable, isn’t it? For short shirt dresses, you could alternate it as a dress, a long shirt or tuck it inside a skirt or a pair of capri pants.

Of course, the danger of a maxi shirt-dress like the above is the risk of getting overwhelmed by the prints, and appearing as if you were in pajamas.

Some tips to carry the maxi shirt dress:

1) Cinch the dress with a belt. If the prints ain’t too crowded, you could go with a bold or thick belt.

2) For better proportions, try pairing with a nice pair of heels. I would avoid pairing with boots because the dress itself is already a statement.

3) For a better balance, you could fold up the sleeves of the shirt dress up till your elbows.

4) Pair with a well-cut blazer for a smart and spiffy look.

Raoul Cruise collection will be available for sale in mid November.
