Not long ago, I received a box of beauty products from Glamabox, a new subscription service fronted by Lisa S (aka wife of Daniel Wu).

For a monthly fee of S$18 with no other hidden costs, you will receive a box of surprises handpicked by Lisa S delivered to your doorstep. Typically, each box would contain 4 to 5 beauty products, mostly sample size. You are required to fill in a beauty profile survey when you sign up and the Glamabox team will customise your monthly box based on your profile.

Interestingly, during the same time, other similar services such as Bella Box and Vanity Trove have appeared in Singapore. What is this service about? What are the differences among these 3 providers? In this post, I shall attempt to list out the details for comparison purposes.

Other comments Skin care focus. Brands associated are mostly available in Hong Kong, but relatively unknown here. Makeup focus. If you like any product in your box, you can purchase the full-sized items on Bella Box’s website. Tilt towards mainstream skincare brands.

Would you pay a monthly subscription to be surprised? All three sites allow cancellation at any point of time so you do not need to pay a few months’ subscription in advance to join their programmes.

I also wonder if  the box is indeed value for money? There is no doubt that the companies will put in attractive products, or even full-sized items during the initial months to attract subscribers. However, will the quality of the box remain the same some time down the road?

Nonetheless, for those adventurous beauty or makeup junkies, this is probably a good avenue to learn more about new brands and products in the market. If you enjoy receiving parcels and be surprised, this might be up your alley!
