Seasons after seasons, collections after collections, I sometimes wonder how designers and marketers get their inspirations. I have handpicked some current offerings in the world of fashion that have been heavily inspired by different aspects of Art.

Mamechiyo for Shu Uemura UV Under Base Mousse: Shu Uemura collaborated with modern kimono artist, Mamechiyo, who designed the artwork of this special collection, with inspirations from four spring flowers cherished in Japan – fuji, sakura, botan and ume.
Vassilisa Silk Skirt from SS2012 Collection (Available at Best of British BOB): Vassilisa’s collections are inspired by animals and for SS2012, her collection is modeled after mythical birds. In fact, the brand name Vasslisa takes after the classic Russian fairytale heroine “Vassilisa the beautiful”, that encompasses the beauty, magic and femininity that represents the heart of the brand’s aesthetic.
LuxMobile Lady Gaga iPhone 4 Case: LuxMobile collaborated with Lady Gaga and launched a series of iPhone 4 cases inspired by her. Definitely a must-have for all the Gaga fans!
Coach x James Nares Tote Bag Collection: Coach worked with New York-based artist James Nares on a canvas bag collection which will be available at Coach Paragon in May this year. Utilising 5 of his brushstroke paintings, the tote bags are held together by a single heavy-duty seam so as not to interrupt the artwork. The shoulder straps and handles are made of vachetta leather, while the base of each bag is vegetable-tanned leather.
Clements Ribeiro Candice printed silk dress: Part of a capsule collection known as Project 6, designer duo Clements Ribeiro featured contributing artists’ patterns and prints in this fashion collection. For the Candice printed silk dress, the artwork was by print artist Thomas Wagener.
agnès b Bijoux Playful Chic Musketeer ring: The “Playful Chic” jewellery series is inspired by a French fairytale Musketeer. The castle ring featured in this collage has a miniature crown inside. Cute!
