In what’s becoming a Christmas tradition for, I have resurrected my guest contribution section again. This year, I have invited a few friends – who are also expert in the beauty arena – to share the contents of their beauty pouches. I am not sure whether you are curious about which items others are using, but I am definitely looking forward to their revelations!

The first person to kick off this series is Adlena Wong, PR practitioner at Platform Public Relations by day, home-proud and Donna Hay wannabe by night. Adlena’s first brush with beauty was at her first jobs – lifestyle, beauty and health writer at the leading female glossies in Singapore. With years of trial and error, her beauty favorites certainly do not come by chance but through personal experiences and interactions with beauty experts.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at what’s in her pouch!

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 – Oil Free
I am not big on heavy foundation so this gives adequate hydration (my “inner layer” of skin is oily but the outer is actually bit dehydrated) without the cloying feeling.

Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colour in Dulce De Leche
The name itself sounds exotic enough I don’t need much convincing to wear it! An everyday colour when you want to feel made up but yet subdued. Understated class, they call it. Thanks to my friend Larry Yeo for the recommendation!

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in 03
Perfect shade for my olive tone without me ending up looking orange. I swipe it as a finishing touch with small, portable Bobbi Brown face blender. There is no need for blusher after this.

Shiseido Translucent Loose Powder
This is great for all T-zone oil slick emergencies… without looking alabaster (because you slapped too much conventional loose powder on). I use this on top of my tinted moisturiser just to mattify things a little.

Clarins UV Plus Day Screen SPF 40
This is one of the best, if not the best sunscreens around. I carry the sachets with me when I’m travelling! I wish they make the bottles in bigger versions though.

[And 2 more products that I would like to mention…]

Maquillage Concealer Stick
My saviour in a stick! They say you need a separate concealer for undereyes – but this proves them wrong… This product can be used on blemishes and enough coverage for stubborn undereye circles.

Chanel Inimitable Waterproof Mascara
It gives the right amount of lift for my lashes (even without curling them… although the Chanel eyelash curler will be my perfect “booster”). I have oily lids but this mascara stays on. I haven’t used any other mascaras every since (2007)!

Please give me anything Clarins! But I’m specifically eyeing the Shaping Facial Lift range as well as Double Serum. I tried the latter at the counter and it smells good and is not heavy at all. Otherwise, the Marc Jacobs Apple Splash or Pomegranate Splash fragrance would be good… or perhaps my very own Jo Malone cabinet full of spritz!

Thanks Adlena for showing us the hidden gems in her makeup bag. I am loving that warm red Prada pouch that looks nifty and luxurious at the same time!
