A couple of weeks ago, my friend by the nickname of miss_momotaro asked for my recommendations on concealer via Twitter.

whats the best concealer for eyes in your opinion dear? ~miss_momotaro

The key to a good under eye concealer is its lightweight consistency. This is because, any product that is too heavy could appear cakey, which will in turn emphasise the fine lines around the area.

If you are looking for an all-purpose concealer – one that not only conceals your dark eye circles, but also hides blemishes and imperfections – I would highly recommend NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (S$42).

This lightweight product offers very high coverage, whereby a little drop goes a long way. Gently pat or brush the concealer under your eye before you apply a light dash of face powder.

However, if pimples and scars are not a concern, you could consider the YSL Touche Eclat (S$55) which has an amazing silky smooth texture that is hard to come by. It is important to note that this product is not a concealer, but more of a highlighter. It helps to highlight the under eye area, and can be used for contouring purposes. I would use this to define the cupid’s bow on my lips when I am wearing a defined, bright lip look.

Remember – always put on some eye cream under your eye to hydrate the area before you apply the foundation and/or concealer.

I hope this sharing is helpful. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
