The annual fashion event – Audi Fashion Festival – is here again in the middle of May this year. However, this year, the Tent has moved from Ngee Ann City to Marina Promenade.

The official schedule is out on the AFF website but here are some highlights that we can look forward to!

15 May 2013 (Opening Show) – THE HOUSE OF HERRERA FALL 2013

Caroline Herrera is one of the designers that I was hoping to see at AFF. Her collections are typically very feminine, classy and not just limited to the slim women on the runway. FW2013 collection is one that plays with different materials and texture – there are long, soft flowy dresses, tweed and fur, as well as smooth satin. This opening also coincides with Herrera’s new store at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

16 May 2013 – COLLETTE DINNIGAN A/W 2013

The Australia-based design also boasts feminine styles. However, Collette Dinnigan’s Fall collection oscillates between black, white and silver in terms of colours, with more focus on the womanly silhouette.

17 May 2013 – TSUMORI CHISATO A/W 2013

Get ready for a visual feast at this show that is full of colours and whimsical prints. commented that the Japanese designer “was a bit of an oddball, but she was an oddball with class.” Haha, that’s what make fashion fun, isn’t it?

Two local powerhouses – Ashley Isham and Kwanpen will be joining forces for this year’s AFF. Actually, make that three because the jewellery worn by the models at this show would be from Lee Hwa. I am excited to see how these 3 elements would fit together. Think: Ashley Isham’s dark and dramatic collection + Kwanpen’s croc bags + Lee Hwa’s glamorous jewellery pieces = ?

18 May 2013: PETER PILOTTO A/W 2013

I like Peter Pilotto. I always find myself drooling at the dresses on Net-a-Porter and the Outnet. This collection is once again, very “printy” but as compared to the other designers showcased at AFF this year, Peter Pilotto’s designs are edgier, featuring bright colours and strong lines.

19 May 2013 – CHALAYAN A/W 2013

The closing of this year’s AFF looks set to be enigmatic, with British-Turkish designer Hussein Chalayana showcasing his modern autumn/winter collection. Stay tuned for some outfit transformationson stage – such is the magic of Chalayana’s works.

Of course, other than the above highlights, there are also other showcases such as Future Fashion Now, Parco Next Next, Raoul and Gisellablu (from Dubai). This year’s festival is a melting pot of fashion talents from different continents indeed! Looking forward to a week of fashion awesomeness this May.
