With summer season fast approaching – beauty launches are getting heated up again. Be prepared to witness an avalanche of new nail polishes and lip glosses this summer.

This post shall be a quickie post on two new nail shades – one set from Dior and another for Guerlain.

Dior Samba Summer Nail Duo.

Launched on May 1, the “Birds of Paradise” Nail Duo from Dior comes in two combination – the Samba, which is a set of pastel green and metallic turquoise shades, or Bahlia, which comprises of metallic royal blue and pink hues. Each set of 2 7ml polishes is priced at S$44.

I like the graduation of shades from pastel green to metallic. The shades – especially the metallic turquoise – are vibrant and eye-catching, true to the theme of “Peacock” for Dior’s summer makeup collection.

If you are shopping for a more elegant and office-friendly shade, Guerlain has released a new range of nail polishes this summer, in 10 different shades of red/pink. The colour I am wearing is No 463, aptly named as La Petite Robe Noire (S$33).

It is a lovely shade of shimmery mauve, that is both understated and elegant. The first coat is a bit translucent, you will need about three coats to get the full opaque pearlised finish.

Top it off with a gel top coat – which coincidentally both Dior and Guerlain have launched recently – for a mirror shine “gelish”effect!
