Check out his illustrations for his collection with Melissa shoes. Aside from being his first partnership with a Brazilian brand, it was also Karl Lagerfeld’s first experience creating shoes entirely out of plastic.

Aren’t these ice-cream shoes – formally known as Melissa Incense + Karl Lagerfeld shoes – immensely cute? I think this design would be the most popular from the collection.

The above design, on the other hand, displays a stronger attitude with the harmonious intersection of femininity with power and modern elegance. I also love that that medium height heels, which provide a little elevation but very easy on the feet.

The Melissa Ginga + Karl Lagerfeld shoes takes a more playful twist, with the fashion maestro paying homage to Brazil, Melissa’s country of origin with a colour palette inspired by the nation’s flag.

The Melissa Glam flats have taken a little twist under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld – the three metallic half spheres to add some pizzazz to the classic shape.
