Given my penchant for leather bags, it’s no surprise that the new TOD’S Sella Bag caught my attention at the brand’s recent Autumn/Winter preview.

Inspired by a dressage saddle, the Sella bag is fashioned from a strip of leather gently curved like a saddle that follows the line of the back of a thoroughbred.

The design features clean lines, with curves at the right places looking elegant than stark. The inspiration from horse riding extends to the hardware, which reference bridles and brass rings.

The Sella Bag comes in three sizes. The largest one is a shopping bag with a zipper, while the two other sizes are more structured.

The bag also comes in a variety of materials – calf skin, pony skin and croc leather – as well as a variety of colours and prints. My preferaence still goes to the soft calf skin leather, which oozes a warm vintage feel.

The bag also comes with a detachable shoulder strap. Couldn’t resist posing with this small version. Isn’t the cutest thing ever?

TOD’S Sella Bag, along with other designs in the Autumn/Winter collection, is available at all boutiques worldwide since July 2013. Let me know what you think of this new design? Could it overtake the D Bag to become the next IT bag for TOD’S?
