There’s no denying that Diane von Furstenberg is one of my favourite designers. I have blogged about her and her dresses since the inception of this blog.

I like that many of her dresses work for women of different shapes and sizes. The wrap dresses are simple and classic in terms of design, but work well for both slim and curvy girls. In fact, I am still wearing my first DVF dress bought some 6 or 7 years ago and I do receive compliments from time to time.

I was invited to the Autumn/Winter 2013 showcase at their Ion Orchard store and I am immensely glad that several pieces in the collection continue to have those classy and wearable elements.

I recently read about the history of wrap dresses. DVF’s wrap dresses are made of light unwrinkling jersey, which traveled brilliantly, and could be gotten into or slipped out of in a minute flat. It has even been associated as a sartorial symbol of women’s sexual liberation (OMG!).

Looking at the latest collection, I am in love with the breezy printed silk dresses in this collection. Even if you are not into prints, do consider investing in a classic plain coloured wrap dress or shirt dress from DVF. Take it as a style advice from me – you would not regret it.
