For someone who is unfortunately blessed with dry lips, I do not wear lipsticks everyday as some of the ingredients in the formula could worsen the condition. I have experimented enough lipsticks – and put myself at risk of having undesirable chapped bits on my pout at important events – to identify the moisturizing rouges that are ideal for my type of lips.
If you have the same problem as me, these products are probably suitable for you too!

I have this in Jungle Red, a full-bodied colour which leaves a velvety matte finish. The lipstick is non-drying and long-lasting, which is perfect for a stronger shade given that you would not want to have bits of red wearing off after a sip of champagne.
According to NARS, the product contains a patented blend of conditioners and antioxidants that hydrate, nourish and protect lips.
Available at Sephora, I got this in “Live It Up”, which is a bright red shade with orange undertone. It has a slightly moist finish as compared to NARS, but is similar in terms of the longer-wearing properties and non-drying nature. The lipstick glides on really smoothly and the colour is highly pigmented.
There are three different range of lipsticks from VMV Hypoallergenics. My vote goes to the Subtle Shine one, which does not have too much shimmer but is just moisturizing enough for dry lips surface. The lipstick is 100% free of fragrance, dye, paraben and preservatives.
I got this in a deep magenta shade named “Fifi”. The colour is somewhat pigmented but very buildable and is very long-lasting. Given its relatively lower price, I would be tempted to stock it up in more shades – there is a total of 29 to choose from.
This is more of a “hybrid” product. It is a lip balm that is tinted to give your lips a nice subtle shade. The texture is buttery smooth, extremely moisturizing with an aroma (I think blackcurrant oil and sugar?). The mauve shade is quite pigmented, making it an acceptable lip product for everyday wear. Into the Gloss quoted it as “the perfect lip conditioner“. I agree.
