If you do recall, I have coloured and permed my mane a while ago. Those procedures were extremely damaging to my hair and indeed, my hair style and colour looked great for far but the dry and brittle quality were obvious signs of distress.

In the bid to inject some life to my crowning glory and give it some TLC, Justin, my hairstylist at Shunji Matsuo recommended the Aveda Botanical Hair Therapy treatment. You could consider giving your hair a treat before the Chinese New Year festive season too!

Known as a “facial for your hair”, this holistic treatment uses plant-based products and is customised according to individual needs.

The Repair treatment helps to strengthen and reconstruct damaged hair by up to 84%. A tonic is applied on the scalp, followed by treatment product on the strands. Subsequently, my hair was placed in a steaming machine.

A breakdown of some ingredients used in the treatment:
• Quinoa Protein and Sugar Beet derived amino acids deeply penetrates to intensely strengthen and repair weak/damaged hair, restoring natural body.
• Palm Kernel derived conditioners smooths and detangle hair.
• A blend of Phellodendrom and Barley extract provides moisture and seals in shine.
• Soy-derived lecithin conditions damaged hair.

Overall, it was a really quick and relaxing treatment. The entire process lasted for 30 minutes and I dozed off while my hair was put to steam.

Voila! After the treatment as well as blow-dry from the hairstylist.

This treatment costs S$150 at Shunji Matsuo. Definitely money well-spent if your hair quality needs an overhaul! Justin commented that I should only perm my hair every 6 months – I have been doing so every quarter last year and that seems unacceptable on hindsight!
