Over the span of less than two months, I experienced Shiseido Qi Facial and La Mer Moisturizing + Radiance Facial.

Key Specs Rhythmic massages and facial masks help to stimulate micro-circulation and encourage smooth flow of Qi throughout the body. The Shiseido Shiatsu method, which involves application of pressure to the acupoints of the body, helps to regulate the flow of Qi, and together with patting, kneading, rubbing and pressing on the face, this treatment helps to improve skin concerns. The La Mer Aesthetician will apply the appropriate La Mer products depending on your skin concerns and analysis. The face, décolleté, and hands are massaged using the exclusively developed La Mer Massage Oil.This facial treatment allows the customer to enjoy a full suite of La Mer products and their miracles, promoting healing benefits to the skin.
Condition of the facial cabin The room is dark but cosy, with a basic changing corner that includes hair dryer. One could be lulled into sleep easily in the dark environment and soothing music. The room is bright, with a changing area. Lights will be dimmed during the facial. Basic makeup such as La Mer loose powder, radiant concealer and some Bobbi Brown colours, as well as makeup brushes, are available for those who would like to touch up after the facial.
Is extraction included? No. Yes, facial extraction is done if necessary.
Is there any gadget or apparatus used? Yes. The beautician used a high-frequency gadget on my acne area, which would help to enhance recovery and improve radiance. Steaming was also done on the face. No. This facial is 100% massage, except for steaming which was done prior to extraction.
Products used during the treatment Shiseido uses exclusive products that are not available off-the-shelf during the treatment. All products used, except for the massage oil, are available for sale at La Mer counters.Depending on your skincare needs, the Aesthetician might be able to provide you with some samples.
Aftermath My skin was glowing and looked radiant immediately after the facial. As no extraction was done, you could touch up and head off for other engagements after your appointment. Some of my acne-prone area seemed to have calmed after the extraction and extensive use of La Mer products. The standard of extraction was average, and one needs to be mindful that your skin might look a bit red and sensitive after the facial due to the extraction.

All facials at Seviin end off with a warm cup of tea of your choice, and a generous serving of delicious cookies.  Both experiences were very relaxed and pampering and I would highly recommend you to try out either services.

How to decide which brand’s facial services to go for? I think this depends on your needs and requirements. If you prefer an extraction to be done, Shiseido’s Qi facial would not be suitable for you. Also, consider the type of products that work well for your skin. If you have been a long-time La Mer product user, than I think the La Mer facial would help a lot in boosting your regular skincare regime.

Disclaimer: The Shiseido Qi Facial was complimentary, while I paid for the La Mer Facial Treatment. I never felt the need to make such disclosures but this serves as a reiteration that all reviews published here are my honest opinion.
