I have a few new products for the peepers that I could like to introduce to all of you. There is something to conceal, eye-creams for anti-aging and brightening, and my newly found “HG” (holy grail) mascara that creates volume and is smudge-free!

Shiseido Sheer Eye Zone Corrector – S$45

For a quick fix to your dark eye circles, you will need a lightweight concealer. I am sure many of us have gone through this face and would admit that it is not a pretty sight to have cakey, thick and extremely fair concealer around the eyes.

The solution offered by Shiseido this season – is a feather-light, buildable concealer with brush like applicator that helps you control the amount of product applied. The result – a natural finish that allows you to achieve the “barely-there” natural makeup look.

Available in 6 shades, you could use the Sheer Eye Zone Corrector for your brow bones, nose bridge and cupid’s bow as well.

Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Eye Serum – S$107 for 15 ml

This is a light-weight oil that is more suitable for people with oily, sensitive eye area. Sounds incredulous, I understand, but the Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Eye Serum gets absorbed readily and I don’t think it would serve as much hydrating purposes for drier skin.

I love that it is enriched with many vitamins (A, B, C and E to be precise), as well as botanical extracts such as lavender and chamomile. The oil smells great and it serves as a good perk-me-up for the eye and even the skin on a sleepy day.

If you are a fan of essential oils and has been looking for an oil that is suitable for your sensitive eye area, this product is it.

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Morning Eye Rescue ($40 for 15 ml)

This is a slim tube of basic eye cream free of parabens, sulphates, fragrance and phthalates. It is also lightweight but works well as a good base for your eye makeup. True to its name, it helps to “wake you up” in the morning and depuffs effectively.

I love how it could be easily absorbed without residue and is a decent all-purpose eye cream that is convenient for traveling.

Majolica Majorca Lash King Mascara (S$25.90) and Lash Bone Black Fiber (S$24.50)

I am not sure what took me so long to get to know Majolica Majorca’s mascaras given that they have been much raved about for a long while. But… better late than never. This is by far the only mascara (amongst the 143289756 that I have tried) that does not smudge at all. Indeed, I wore their mascara to work (that’s at about 7am) and even went for a run in the evening and there was nary a hint of panda eyes at all.

The reason lies in the formula – MM’s mascaras uses fibres and are therefore not only waterproof, but resistant to sweat, sebum and tears. They have a variety of mascaras for different effect – lengthening, volume, curl etc. I have tried both Lash King and Lash Expander Edge Meister and prefer the former for its voluminous effect. Match it with the Lash Bone Black Fibre, a white mascara base for the optimal impact.
