At any point in time, all of us would have some aspirations in mind. Growing up, my dreams included – being a runway model, living in New York like Carrie Bradshaw, writing a heartwarming novel, producing an indie short film that has bossa nova tunes playing in the background… The list goes on and I have never attempted to fulfil any of them.

Today, as I live my life in sort of clockwork – with a regular 9-to-6 job and another regular after-6 life – I have almost forgotten about the dreams I had in those days.

Last week, Samsung launched a Dream Exchange programme that aims to inspire consumers to think about how technology can help improve their lives and enable them to do more. I was invited to take part in this and it got me thinking and rediscovering some of my ambitions that were shoved aside.

My Dream In The Making with Samsung Dream Exchange

Everyone is invited to submit a dream and mention how a Samsung product could help them. Samsung will select 50 of these dreams to take a step to fulfilling them by gifting these selected winners with the Samsung product of their choice. Guess what my dream submission is?

I will be collaborating with Junie from Lark & Peony to come up with  a new design, that will hopefully be available at their online store in the near future!

Armed with the new Samsung Galaxy Tab PRO (8.4″ Display) I will be working with Junie, who is based in Tokyo, on the design, inspirations, fabric, cut of our collaboration. The tablet would be a great everyday information exchange device between both of us, as I will not only be able to share inspirations and pictures on the go, but I will have the opportunity to look at fabrics and accessories in detail; given that Junie is a jet-setter and she sources her materials from all over the world!

We had a first discussion on the dress and this project is getting exciting!

From now till 8 August 2014, all Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents above 18 years are invited to share their dreams on the web site www.dreamexchange.com and the ways in which Samsung’s products can fulfil them. 50 dreams will be selected by Samsung and the winners will be presented with their chosen Samsung products. These winners will be supported by Samsung to ensure that their dreams take flight and come to fruition. Please note that only one dream can be submitted per day, and do remember to use the #DreamExchange hashtag.

Alternatively, you could also visit their roving roadshows where ambassadors will help you submit your dreams on the spot.

• 12 – 13 July: Dream Exchange roving ambassadors will be at Orchard Road
• 14 – 18 July: a Dream Exchange truck will be at Chevron House, Raffles Place

I will share with you more about the progress of this little dream of mine in due course. Start dreaming again and you may begin to discover a whole new paradigm. Good luck!
