If you are a fan of chic, form-fitting dresses then you probably are aware of this capsule collection from Roland Mouret for Banana Republic.

Roland Mouret is well-known for his Galaxy dress and Moon dress and signature silhouette sculpting pieces. On the other hand, Banana Republic – my go-to label for my corporate wardrobe – is known for their feminine, sophisticated apparels. In fact, I was eyeing the Sloan dress from BR a while back and I am pleased to find out that Roland Mouret’s collaboration with Banana Republic uses the Sloan fabric as the foundation.

The great news is, this collection is available at Banana Republic stores here in Singapore since Friday, 8 August 2014.

The Banana Republic Sloan fabric – is a unique blend of rich, bi-stretch fabric, which creates a “magic” fit that shapes through figure-flattering silhouettes. This fabric is used for the brand’s own Sloan dress series, which are highly flattering, presentable and comfortable.

Prices range from S$80 for a belt to S$270 for a dress. I think this collection is a keeper – considering that you are getting Roland Mouret’s designs at a fraction, yet the fabric used are of suitably superior quality. The overall look and feel of these dresses are very sophisticated and elegant, allowing you to revisit it again and again.

My only qualm is – why did the stylist get the model to wear flats for some of the outfits? I think she looked a lot more poised in heels.

What’s your take on this collaboration? I would give it a resounding YES, so do check them out at the Banana Republic stores at Paragon and Marina Bay Sands!
