I’m sorry, H&M. But the first picture I saw of this collaboration collection was the debut outfit donned by Rihanna.


Alexander Wang x H&M Crop Top (S$79.90) and Alexander Wang x H&M leggings (S$99.90) – Wait a minute, does the price really matter??

*Gulp* Perhaps I have truly not much fashion marbles left, I really thought this get-up looked hideous!

Fortunately though, the campaign images of this collaboration did not disappoint – I mean really – the upcoming Alexander Wang x H&M collection indeed appeared fresh and exciting in the released campaign shots!

The campaign ad was a star-studded affair, featuring famous English soccer player Andy Carroll and kickboxer Rivaldino dos Santos, as well as supermodels Joan Smalls, Raquel Zimmermann, Isabeli Fontana and Natasha Poly.






As you can tell, this collection is very performance and sportswear-inspired. This is in line with the product trend H&M is focusing on this year.  In terms of colours and silhouette, the collection is characterised by grey and black shades, and boasts simple and modern vibes.

Interestingly, this collection is NOT a rehash of Wang’s older designs, but created from scratch specially for H&M.

“H&M has done a great job in the past with archive-based collaborations,” said Wang, “but I wanted to create a collection where most of the pieces have been designed from scratch. There are only a couple of items that are updates from past designs. Rather than creating affordable versions of expensive items, I wanted to design true performance pieces that are within the natural price points of sportswear of H&M, so we were able to create the best version of these pieces, through our vocabulary.” [Source
