Fashion. They do go through a revival, don’t they? I remember more than 20 years ago, during the era when Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt were an item, backpacks were the IN thing. (Oops, did I just revealed my age?)

Remember the vintage Moschino black backpack adorned with movable gold letter alphabets? And Alicia Silverstone and her tiny little bag in our favorite movie “Clueless”?

Fast forward Fall/Winter 2014, backpacks are back in the game once again.

Alicia Silverstone in Clueless (1995)

I feel like I am past the “backpack” era. After all, I’m no longer a sweet young thing or in the age of the likes of Alicia Silverstone when she was filming ‘Clueless’. Nonetheless, the backpacks showcased above do look somewhat enticing and perhaps, still relevant for me?

1. Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Jerrie Rose Preppy Knapsack -US$198

2. Elizabeth and James Tie Dye Cynnie Sling Backpack – US$595
This bag can be carried two-way: as a backpack and a tote bag.

3. New Look Backpack in Marble Print – S$48.49

4. Salvatore Ferragamo Giulette Quilted Backpack – US$1590

5. Cambridge Satchel Portrait Backpack – US$240

Do share your thoughts on this “retro revival” observation? What are the other 90s trend that are coming back this season?
