If you are a fan of natural makeup look or neutral colours, there would be something up your alley from the Fall/Winter makeup collection from Shiseido.
I mean, who doesn’t want to look like He Sui in this picture?
I truly appreciate that this season, the items and shades selected by Shiseido are basic and versatile. The Shimmering Cream Eye Colour (only at S$32 a pop), which I have commended for its “smooth gel-like consistency and awesome colour intensity” back in 2011, now comes in sophisticated neutral shades. And the slim pan packaging makes it a breeze to carry along in your makeup pouch.
For those who are not familiar with Shiseido lipsticks, the Perfect Rouge (S$43) are silky smooth and has good colour payoff. Veiled Rouge (S$40) , on the other hand, are sheer and shimmery and tends to blend very well with your natural lip colour. The Perfect Rouge PK354 (Cocoa Rose) is a versatile nude shade with pink hue, while RD555 (Spellbound) is a warm red lipstick that wears well with Asian yellowish skin tone. For the Veiled Rouge, I like the OR313 (Honeydew), which looks coral at first glance but is actually a shimmery gold sheer lip colour!
To complete He Sui’s natural look with luscious lashes, Shiseido suggests that you consider the Lash Serum (S$60) and Full Lash Volume Mascara (S$46). Having tried the Mascara, I like its long lasting wear and the non-clumping formula although you could get a decent mascara from Shiseido’s lower-end sister brand.
The above makeup collection is available for sale in store. There is another highly anticipated special holiday palette that will be launched here next month and boy, it’s absolutely breathtaking!
A multi-color palette for the face and the eyes, this is a collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto’s fashion brand Y’s. The palette cover is made of silk bursting with the colorful blooms of camellia. Apparently, the fabric was specially printed in Kyoto.
This palette has a whimsical asymmetrical shape and comprised of 6 silky smooth colours that could be applied on the eye or the face.
Isn’t the palette a beauty and doesn’t it make a great gift? Available for a limited time period from November, the Shiseido Festive Camellia palette will retail at S$120 here.
