Melissa shoes recently unveiled their upcoming Spring Summer 2016 collection. Set in the rooftop bar at Grand Park Orchard with a sunny, chirpy theme, I think the atmosphere was exuberant and fun and you could feel the sunny vibes from the shoe designs too.
Paying homage to the city of Rio de Janeiro, Melissa drew inspiration from the culture-rich neighbourhoods, sandy beaches and musical lifestyle of Rio city for this “Wanna be Carioca” collection.
Clearly going bananas with the various designs of open-toed sandals and straps, suitable for the beach!
The “Wanna be Rio” (Retail price S$235), a key design for the collection, combines inspiration from the West and the Orient with its laced-up Oxford peep toe front and flatform sole.
Melissa Hotness (left) and Melissa Flox III (right) – both sandals with flatform soles. Hotness will be priced at S$175 whilst Flox III will be priced at S$165.
A design from the collaboration with Brazilian fashion designer Alexandre Herchcovitch, featuring delicate rose flowers on the straps of the sandals.
There was a good range of Mini Melissa, for babies and toddlers too. Look how adorable the Mickey and Minnie shoes are! Each pair would be priced at S$125, suitable as newborn gifts – if you do not already have a baby girl?
A Mother & Daughter matching design. Melissa released a new range named “Mel”, targeting age 4-9 years old. Good time to shop for some matching shoes with your kiddo before Chinese New Year!
The number of options if you have a baby daughter – such adorable tiny shoes!
And of course, the collection also featured some fierce heels, as with previous collections. This time, the chunky heels are adorned with jagged edges.
