In case you haven’t heard, I am in the midst of designing a cheongsam dress with Junie from Lark & Peony. This was the dream that I have submitted to the Samsung Dream Exchange campaign.
I have been carrying my new tablet – the Samsung GALAXY Tab PRO (8.4″ Display) – everywhere I go to capture my inspirations, take down notes, and communicate with Junie on our collaboration.
At any point in time, all of us would have some aspirations in mind. Growing up, my dreams included – being a runway model, living in New York like Carrie Bradshaw, writing a heartwarming novel, producing an indie short film that has bossa nova tunes playing in the background… The list goes on and I have never attempted to fulfil any of them.
Today, as I live my life in sort of clockwork – with a regular 9-to-6 job and another regular after-6 life – I have almost forgotten about the dreams I had in those days.
Last week, Samsung launched a Dream Exchange programme that aims to inspire consumers to think about how technology can help improve their lives and enable them to do more. I was invited to take part in this and it got me thinking and rediscovering some of my ambitions that were shoved aside.
Everyone is invited to submit a dream and mention how a Samsung product could help them. Samsung will select 50 of these dreams to take a step to fulfilling them by gifting these selected winners with the Samsung product of their choice. Guess what my dream submission is?
Sale or no sale, it seems that the festive mood and chilly weather during the year-end make it the best time for online shopping. This year, through Mastercard, I was introduced to Inverted Edge – an online fashion store with a focus on independent designers. I was also re-connected with SkinStore.com.
Use your Mastercard for payment and enter the promo code MCSHOP at checkout to receive the following discount (till 31 Dec 2013):
- Inverted Edge: 15% off all items
- Skin Store: Save $30 USD on skincare and beauty purchases of $130 USD or more
I have sparse brows and therefore I had to fill them in everyday before I step out of the house. Sometimes, when you’re blurry-eyed in the morning, you may miss a couple of steps of your daily makeup routine. Imagine those emotional roller-coasters I had to go through when I realised that I had forgotten about my brows after I reached the office!
Having been to Browhaus for brow threading over the past few years, renewing package after package, I was introduced to Brow Resurrection several years ago. I heard so much about this bespoke semi-permanent eyebrow embroidery treatment that I really wanted to try it.
Recently, Browhaus launched a new and more natural version of Brow Resurrection, known as Brow Resurrection Natural. I was invited to test drive and share my experience about the treatment. There will be a special promotion for those who are interested in this solution, so keep reading to the end of the post!
I had my brows “resurrected” at Browhaus Raffles City B1 by a Brow Specialist named Elaine.
As promised in my post a couple of weeks ago, this entry will be focused on my user review of the 1 • DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ beauty enhancement contact lenses.
Have you ever considered wearing enhancement lenses? I have almost perfect eyesight, thanks to my LASIK operation 3 years ago. I thought I was bidding contact lenses farewell forever, but I was wrong.
Recently, I was invited by Johnson & Johnson to be an ACUVUE® DEFINE™ advocate. Prior to that, I was curious about beauty enhancement lenses given their increasing popularity. After all, I have seen enough bloggers and friends wearing coloured or iris enlargement lenses and could see how these helped to enhance overall looks.
I found out that the 1 • DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ is the only brand of beauty enhancement contact lenses that offer UV protection. The level of protection is more than 80% UVA and 95% UVB, which is in line with internationally recognised standards. This means that the entire cornea is protected from UV rays, which complements your shades very well because the rays could still seep in from the sides of the sunglasses.
With my interest piqued, I went for a comprehensive eye examination with Ms Oh Shwu Ji, Manager and Optometrist at Specialist Eye Centre, who then confirmed that my eyes are suitable for 1 • DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ lenses.
I am sure many of you have heard Reebonz but how many of you have actually made a purchase from the website? An invite-only shopping site that is well-known for selling designer bags for a limited time only, I was thrilled to find out that it has expanded its range of offerings beyond the classic designer bags in its earlier days to also include jewellery, small leather goods and shoes!
