I think pretty yoga/workout clothes had fast became more of a “need” rather than a “want” in my list of priorities. After all, these are clothes that I have to wear on a weekly basis and it is important to look good while working out!
(That means I may not be able to do a headstand at yoga, but at least I am dressed like a pro… )
Of course, when we talk about yoga or workout clothes, Lululemon comes to mind. The brand has set up two stores here in Singapore – Ion Orchard and Ngee Ann City where we can try out the beautiful tanks and leggings before making the purchase.
Are there other yoga clothing stores here in Singapore?
The short answer is yes – plenty and it all depends on your budget. Even the yoga studios here have a retail corner selling yoga clothes. I have came up with a list of 5 stores that boast beautiful and affordable yoga gear for your reference.
1) Forever 21
I have blogged about Forever21 sportswear extensively in a separate post. The stores here have sportswear corners that stock up some sports bras, tanks and tights. Prices are very affordable – ranging from about S$23 for a sports bra to S$49 for a pair of tights!
The quality, as I mentioned is decent and I love those sexy caged back sports bra! You need to be quick in spotting the designs and sizes though because the items, especially the smaller and more popular sizes get sold out very fast.
More fashionable active wear is coming to our shores with the latest Topshop and adidas Originals collaboration available for sale from 20th March (Thursday)!
The London Olympics has officially started, and it’s time to get heady about sporty pursuits. I believe one thing I did right this year was to get started with jogging. I have never been a fan of exercising but I am glad that I got past the inertia and started running regularly.
Moreover, the fashion scene has been oozing with sporty chic recently in line with the Olympics festivities. If you have been deliberating about starting your exercise regime, I hope that these trendy sportswear would help you get into the spirit of athleticism. After all, no one wants to hit the gym or the tracks looking less than fabulous.
This pair of Krypton leggings from London-based Lucas Hugh would be sufficient to get me jogging for more than once a week!
The three stripes mark is probably synonymous to the adidas brand. While the brand’s offering has evolved over the years and through different collaborations, the iconic adidas Originals range had withstood the test of time and remain fashionable and trendy today.
I was invited to adidas Originals “Create your own Legacy” event a couple of weeks ago at Marina Bay Sands. There were several familiar designs, such as the track suit with three stripes which was recently popularised again by Sue Sylvester. I was pleasantly surprised by plenty of everyday wear, as well as the adorable Jeremy Scott for adidas sneakers at the store!

I wasn’t headed out for a jog but that didn’t deter me from flaunting my new mi adidas kicks.

Not long ago, I came across this mi adidas site which allows you to customise your adidas sports shoes or Superstar sneakers. I checked with adidas Singapore and found out that we do have mi adidas service over here, although it was meant for customising sports (or performance) shoes only.
Thanks to adidas Singapore, I had the opportunity to try out the mi adidas customisation service, and make a pair of one-of-the-kind sports shoes for myself!
The mi adidas service is available in Singapore since 2005, and by today, there are more than 10 different shoe ranges available for customisation!

Hi, I’m Miss Glitzy. And I think shopping is a sport.
With the World Cup fever burning hot and furious, sporty fashion items are hoarding the spotlight. While I don’t really wear much sports gear, the colourful and huge sports watches have caught my attention.
1. Adidas Seoul
This collection is launched specially for the World Cup. Choose the colours of the watch based on the team you support… or maybe according to the colours in your wardrobe. The watch has a very retro display but it’s huge – with a diameter of 5cm – and is probably great for highlighting your casual outfit. Each watch costs $120.
2. G-Shock X-Large Vivid Color
These look yummy like candies! While they are loud and attention grabbing, I love that there is both the digital and analog display of time. I’m the old fart who prefers analog to digital. This retails at $170 each.
3. Timex 80 Spring 2010 Rainbow Collection
Timex may not be a big brand here but they have many cute and retro sports watches under the Timex 80 line. I love the happy colours of the Spring collection! I’m not sure whether Timex 80 is sold in Singapore but you can get it online at 50 Euros a pop.
