The BB Cushion is probably one of the most IN thing now in the makeup scene crowded with BB, CC and even DD cream and numerous permutations of makeup and base products.
This “Uniquely Korean” beauty invention is a more compact version of BB cream, which helps to dispense a liquid version of BB cream that provides a light coverage on the skin and can be carried around in the handbag.

I received a bunch of BB (stands for blemish balm) and CC (short for colour correct) creams from Sephora a while back. And today, I’m pleased to share with you the results of my road test with these different products – coincidentally all came with SPF, which is perfect for summer!

In this increasingly complicated world, even applying a foundation is not so straightforward anymore. For a flawless finish, you could start from a makeup base or primer- oh and that’s after you have prepped your skin with your three or five steps skincare procedures – followed by BB or CC cream and/or liquid foundation and/or foundation compact and/or face powder.
Geesh! Before we think about the number of products we slap on our face, how many different types of foundation products do we have to deliberate and consider before we make the purchase?
So today, to make things complicated, I am going to discuss the Shiseido Perfect Hydrating BB Cream and the Maquillage True Liquid Moisture UV Foundation. I coined the latter as “FF” cream – which stands for “Flawless Foundation”. And yes, it’s just gonna get more mind-boggling after you finish reading this post. You have been warned!
In all honesty, having had the privilege to experience Maquillage products for several years, my impression with this Japanese makeup brand is : Not bad, well catered for Asian faces. I love their glossy rouges and always carry an eye shadow palette from the brand when I am travelling as their colours are neutral but flattering. Nonetheless, my liking towards Maquillage had never been strong or intense.
This feeling has changed though, for I am truly in love with their latest products.
The True Eye Shadow Palette is not new, so are the Essence Glamorous Rouge in OR292 and BE790.

Having been informed of Clarins White Plus HP whitening range over the past few years, this year, the French brand has improved the formulation of their whitening range and the new range is known as “White Plus Total Luminescent“.
It seems that this year, there are more new BB Cream products available in the market. That is probably unsurprising, considering recent facts and figures reveal that BB Creams constitute 26% of Asian makeup business.
Similar to the review I did last year, I have rounded up and tested 5 new products from Kiehl’s, Dior Snow, VMV Hypoallergenics, Philosophy and Lancôme.
