Over the weekend, Mr Christian Louboutin was in town and had a cocktail party at the boutique in Ngee Ann City, as well as at Potato Head Folk along Keong Saik Road.
It was a well-attended affair, with many guests in Louboutin’s designs, hoping to get his signature (which he politely declined).
First off, let’s admire some of the shoes in store.
Who have watched Maleficent?
Admittedly, I haven’t but that will be my go-to film on my next flight. That movie must be worth-watching, considering that Christian Louboutin has specially designed a pair of shoes inspired by Angelina Jolie’s character in the movie.
I always feel like a girl in the candy store when I step into Christian Louboutin store located at Level 2 of Takashimaya.
Sexy heels! Red lacquered soles. Studs and bling. And plush carpeting and sofa for you to lounge around and enjoy a glass of refreshment…
The store at Takashimaya has shifted a few units away and is now bigger and boasts a wider collection of shoes. I had a tour around the store, admiring the latest Fall/Winter collection from the designer. It was quite a visual feast as Christian Louboutin extended on his signature opulent, dramatic style.
Girls, being girls, would more often than not, go weak in the knees at the sight of hot shoes. It’s the kind of irrational emotions that you can’t make out of – we wouldn’t care about how long we could walk in the stilettos, or if we have an outfit to match the colour of the shoes.
You just want to go grab a pair of that hot shoes. And Christian Louboutin, in my book, is the designer of such footwear, unleashing the inner “shoegal” moment in us. Some people might beg to differ, by commenting that the designs are a tad garish. But check out the current Fall Winter collection. The material used are more timeless and understated, colours are slightly muted to suit the season and the embellishments feel like icing on the cakes.

As a blog that attempts to propagate classy, wearable styles, I find it incredulous that I have never blogged about Grace Kelly. Perhaps she was way before my time, but this lady was the inspiration of the famous Hermès Kelly Bag, the Capri pants and the recent jewellery collection at Montblanc.
Grace Kelly (or Princess Grace after her marriage) through the years. It is uncanny to see how her elegant and timeless dress outfits are actually feasible even in the current era.
I have a number of friends who are based in London, currently holidaying in London, or intend to do so within these couple of months. This is a special shout-out for them, as well as for you if you are headed to the city soon. Don’t miss out on these two limited-time-only exhibitions!
