Imagine this: You realised you are out of your favourite moisturizer/shampoo/foundation/serum* (pick anyone) and you just have no time to hit the stores to make a purchase. If only you could just place a few clicks online and get your items delivered the next day.

Imagine this again: You need a haircut/manicure/brow threading/massage session* (pick anyone) badly and the telephone line of the salon is constantly engaged. If only you could just place a few clicks online to secure the appointment booking.

So, the purpose of my post today is to share with three sites that would make your life a lot easier. You can thank me later.

With the trend of face oils pretty much in the rage, it could be painful for peeps with oily skin when it comes to experimenting with such products. After all, we have been educated that oil-based products may be too rich for our skin type.

If you belong the oily skin group, and you have been itching to play with such oils, perhaps you could take some baby steps with these two products.

The Clarins Shaping Facial Lift is a popular product designed for Asian women to target coutouring on the face.

I have never been much of a believer of a product that makes you slimmer, or makes you look slimmer because most of my experiences with them have not been successful.

However, if we were to look at this product again, it contains plant extracts - guarana extract, zerumbet ginger and kaki extracts, as well as caffeine. Doesn’t sound too different from a skincare product that targets puffiness or tries to energize the skin.

So, I try to regard the Clarins Shaping Facial Lift as a skincare product rather than a “lifting” or “slimming” product and here are some suggestions how you could consider using it.

If you have been reading enough beauty blogs… or have been always paid attention to new beauty products and their launches, you would probably be familiar with the idea of “enhanced” versions. Essentially, the same product gets some refinements or additional ingredients and the brand does a relaunch for the enhanced products.

This season, my two favourite sunscreens were enhanced and relaunched.  Clarins UV Plus Anti-Pollution Day Screen now comes with anti-pollution production, as well as in three shades – Translucent, Fairness and Rosy Glow. Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense has also been reformulated with stronger defense against UV rays.

At the risk of getting lashed (no pun intended) out on left right and centre, let me tell you my struggle with eye creams: I didn’t believe that they work.

Show me a cream that works. Image credit: Xinhuanet

I used to write on health and beauty topics for a couple of local magazines back in the day and was inundated everyday by beauty products — from mascaras and hair serums to foundation and of course, eye creams. I enjoyed working on the makeup stories because I could see immediately whether that shade of concealer would melt like second skin or if the mascara really made my eyes pop. But when the stash of eye creams started bursting out of the office drawers it was hard to ignore them anymore.

Recently, two new cleansing products were launched and both shared similar characteristics – both has plant extracts as a dominant ingredient and they aim to cleanse and nourish the skin while protecting the skin barrier.

Plant-based cleansers that are gentle on the skin – don’t they sound tantalizing already?

guestcontributor1Today, I would like to introduce Adlena, our new contributor on MsGlitzy.com. Some of you may be familiar with her – after all, she had shown us her makeup pouch 2 Christmases ago.

Adlena recently became a Mum and she will be sharing with us some Mummy beauty and fashion tips on the blog. I’m very excited to read her posts! I hope you’ll enjoy them too.

Five months after I had my baby, Keri, I must say I’m missing my glowing pregnancy skin.

In my early stages of pregnancy I was warned of the perils of being pregnant; be prepared for crazy breakouts on your chest and neck like I had, recalled one fellow mummy friend. I had freckles popping up all over my face!, said the other.

Much to their chagrin, I was one of the few lucky ones: for the whole 40 weeks, my skin had never been better. My “kuali”(read: oily wok) face was non existent and I could get by entire days just with translucent powder, blusher and eyeliner. Yep, no concealer, no foundation whatsoever.Thank you Keri for making mummy pretty, I would say quietly to myself as I rubbed my belly.

Now that she’s out, I’m not saying my skin took to a sudden worse, but it’s just not as radiant and oil-free as before. No thanks to late night feedings and just general ennui and fatigue of having to manage a small business while juggling the needs of an infant and doing household chores on a daily basis.

So what can I do to hide at least some of those imperfections just so my clients and co-workers won’t think that I’m going to crumble in front of them from exhaustion just by looking at my face?

I have six skincare saving graces:

Newly-minted Mum, Adlena, cannot do without these skin saviours
