In conjunction with the SG50 Jubilee Weekend, it is probably opportune to take stock and pay tribute to homegrown brands. One of the Singapore names that most of us are familiar with is Browhaus – I’m sure many of us know them as the brow specialist and I have reviewed their Brow Resurrection services previously.

This year, the brow specialist has launched a number of makeup items – not just related to the brows but also eyeliners and mascara too! At first glance, I love the look and feel of the packaging and prices of most items are quite affordable.

Moving on to Part 2 of my Eyeliner Diaries. If you missed out on the first instalment, please head over here now.

For week 2, I played with 7 new eyeliners! There are a mix of felt tip pens and brush tip liners.

A while back, I received a surprise package from Sephora.

Yes! A box full of eyeliners from different brands. That kick-started my aim to test drive 1 new eyeliner per day and document my experience in this “Eyeliner Diaries“.

“What? Green Mascara? How does it work? Would the colour show up on my lashes? Would it look too over the top?”

Naturally, I got quite excited about this new green mascara from By Terry - a French brand founded Terry de Gunzburg, previously a director of makeup design at Yves Saint Laurent Beauté where she created the wildly popular Touche Éclat. Furthermore, this shade of dark forest is a lovely turquoise emerald hue that could potentially work magic on dark eyelashes!

I have a confession to make. I have a love-hate relationship with the smoky eyes. In the earlier days (before I even started blogging), I tried fiddling with it and those pair of eyes looked like “smoky gone wrong”. Only through more exposure to different blogs, makeup brands and workshops, I began to understand how to blend, how to shape and how there is no rule in makeup. Yes, if you are confident enough, you could rock the Panda eyes too.

Anyway, what I wanted to say is, The Body Shop 4-Step Smoky Eyes might be suitable for those who are like me – curious about the smokies but hesitate to take that step forward.
