There’s no denying that Diane von Furstenberg is one of my favourite designers. I have blogged about her and her dresses since the inception of this blog.
I like that many of her dresses work for women of different shapes and sizes. The wrap dresses are simple and classic in terms of design, but work well for both slim and curvy girls. In fact, I am still wearing my first DVF dress bought some 6 or 7 years ago and I do receive compliments from time to time.
I was invited to the Autumn/Winter 2013 showcase at their Ion Orchard store and I am immensely glad that several pieces in the collection continue to have those classy and wearable elements.
Launched as a limited-edition offering in July this year, the full name of this special palette “Voulez-Vous Choucher Avec Moi, Ce Soir” literally means “Do you want to sleep with me tonight” in French.
By now, we are no stranger to the provocative names coming from NARS. Kudos to François Nars for making e us ladies articulate words like “Orgasm”, “G-Spot” or “Deep Throat” in a matter-of-fact manner without blushing.
I digressed. Apart from its attention-grabbing name, the Voulez-Vous palette is actually a really functional item that contains the essential colours – 4 eye shadows and 2 cheek blushes – that any girl would relish.
This palette was already on sale in Singapore during 4th July at S$68, and was an exclusive palette at Nordstrom and Selfridges.

For those who have already viewed my photo album on Facebook, you would realise that in the upcoming Fall season, the colour palette of Coach’s collections is more subdued and elegant.
The new Madison Leather Small Sadie Flap Satchel.
Girls, being girls, would more often than not, go weak in the knees at the sight of hot shoes. It’s the kind of irrational emotions that you can’t make out of – we wouldn’t care about how long we could walk in the stilettos, or if we have an outfit to match the colour of the shoes.
You just want to go grab a pair of that hot shoes. And Christian Louboutin, in my book, is the designer of such footwear, unleashing the inner “shoegal” moment in us. Some people might beg to differ, by commenting that the designs are a tad garish. But check out the current Fall Winter collection. The material used are more timeless and understated, colours are slightly muted to suit the season and the embellishments feel like icing on the cakes.
Following the launch of Golden Jungle Nail Polish last year, Dior is releasing the Mystic Magnetics aka Magnetic Nail Polish for Fall/Winter 2013.

I know, I know. Summer has just arrived and here we are, looking at Fall/Winter already. Unrealistic? But it’s exciting to be able to have a glimpse of what’s in store in September, isn’t it?
“Modern drama with a tomboy spirit” – Somewhat an extension of the 2012 collection, this year you can expect a deeper, minimalist pieces with a hint of understated glamour.
If you haven’t read other AFF show reports about Tsumori Chisato AW 2013, I think one simple word sums it all: Happy. The delightful colours and prints came together and evoked this light-hearted and chirpy mood on people.
I had the opportunity to do an email interview with the Japanese designer herself. Ms Chisato started working for Issey Miyake in 1977 and started her own line in 1990. Famed for her penchant for prints, which are often manga (Japanese comics) inspired, her designs were showcased at Paris in 2003 which led her to gain greater global following thereafter.
Check out her animated responses to my list of questions. I could feel her zest and confidence from afar, what about you?
