Red, yellow and a big letter M. Wait, is it McDonalds or Moschino?

In case you haven’t heard, the above were part of Moschino’s Fall Winter 2014 collection recently showcased in Milan during fashion week. If you don’t take fashion too seriously, I think you will find the designs very light-hearted, fun and rebellious!

We saw it on Simone Rocha Fall 2014 show. Then it was Emilio Pucci’s fashion week showcase.

The commonality: Golden foreheads are going to be big this Fall!

Last weekend, I attended Topshop show at Digital Fashion Week, where the British high street label debuted their first ever Christmas collection on the runway. While the rest of the world were watching it on livestream, I got to experience the show live at Singapore’s National Design Centre!

I wore a cheongsam dress from Lark & Peony to this event. I felt that the eclectic prints is aligned with Topshop’s young and vibrant brand personality. I paired the dress with a pair of purple pumps and the gumball cosmetic case from LeSportSac x Dylan’s Candy Bar collection.

If you haven’t read other AFF show reports about Tsumori Chisato AW 2013, I think one simple word sums it all: Happy. The delightful colours and prints came together and evoked this light-hearted and chirpy mood on people.

I had the opportunity to do an email interview with the Japanese designer herself. Ms Chisato started working for Issey Miyake in 1977 and started her own line in 1990. Famed for her penchant for prints, which are often manga (Japanese comics) inspired, her designs were showcased at Paris in 2003 which led her to gain greater global following thereafter.

Check out her animated responses to my list of questions. I could feel her zest and confidence from afar, what about you?

It’s an interesting showcase featuring an upcoming local designer and an emerging Japanese designer. One’s cultural and ethnic, the other is dreamy and carefree.

In this new collection, Singapore designer Ong Shunmugam decided to deviate from her usual re-invented cheongsam designs, and focus on ethnic prints instead.

Some of you might be wondering what we actually do at the AFF event. In a nutshell, it’s a lot of schmoozing and waiting.

Once you have collected your tickets, you could hang around outside the tent, take some pictures, hope to get spotted by some style photographers or get inside the tent and wait around the lounge area. I always prefer to get into the lounge because it is air-conditioned!

You could admire at beautiful people and celebrities.

I chose to go more casual on Day 4. Thanks to the Style Advisor from Dorothy Perkins, we managed to put together a very fun and wearable “print-on-print” outfit.
