For this year’s party, you can consider ditching your usual chiffon/prom dresses or those sequin numbers. One dress-up idea I have for you to experiment is this year’s season trend: the Cut-Outs.

Indeed, the Cut-Out style has proliferated most of the trendy pieces this Summer and now they are “invading” the party frocks. If you would like to explore something chic and flirty this year, here are some dresses worth considering.

The LBDs

You have already made a bold statement with the cut-out patterns, so neutralise that with the evergreen Black hue for your dress (pun intended).

Is this one dress or two dresses?

Well, this is actually one full dress, which can be worn two way. First as a gown, second as a short dress. You get to enjoy the best of both worlds by owning a wedding dress which you can still wear in future from time to time.

It was a showcase of the Spring and Fall 2010 collection, fronted by Singaporean model Sheila Sim and Korean model Song Kyunga. For the lack of better word, the gowns were simply beautiful.

More dream-like gowns complete with drapes and embellishments.

Wedding gown inspirations.

On the left, Georgina Chapman was apparently inspired by Madame Butterfly when she designed this black gown with violet embroidery (Spring 2010). On the right, the chiffon looks airy-fairy but the design exudes grunge (Fall 2010).

Sheila Sim and Song Kyunga closed the show.

If you are feeling rich, Marchesa is available at Tribeca.

And I assure you that I was trying to capture the gown when I took this picture:
