At my age, I have attended a good number of wedding parties in Singapore and sadly most of the time, the bridal looks are rather uninspiring. Don’t take this in the wrong way, all the brides looked radiant and ravishing, but the bridal style here often belong to the same mould: the standard strapless white tulle gown and the romantic chignon.

As such, I have consolidated different wedding hairstyles in this post as a moodboard for the brides-to-be. Darlings, go challenge your hair stylists!

Medieval and Romantic Up-dos

If you have long hair, you can break out of the standard romantic up-do by going medieval, flapper or bohemian!

Over the weekend, I spent some time with Sgprincess, Stylistry and Joy (The Style Atelier) to shoot the upcoming episode of Glitz Channel.

What do you think the topic would be about? Here’s a little teaser video, stay tuned for the real deal!

While I just had a hair cut and I am currently sporting a rather short bob now, I often envy how girls with long mane could sport those loose buns for a Grecian or Bohemian look.

In this video, we learn how to DIY a Chignon hairstyle. If the power ponytail hairstyle was level 1, I think the difficulty level of DIY Chignon is about level 2 or 3. Take a look at the video and see if you are up for the challenge!

Also, here are some behind-the-scene pictures!

Previously on MsGlitzy.com, we introduced one of the most popular runway hairstyles – the Power Ponytail.

With the help of my friends Mr Stylistry and Sgprincess, we have put together a video on how to DIY this hairstyle on your own. Trust me, it is kinda easy peasy.

Having seen so many “ponytail looks” on the runway recently, I’ve invited my friend Mr Stylistry aka the Hair Expert to share his views. Mr Stylistry, who works in the beauty industry and recently started a men’s style blog, is going to introduce us to the “Power Ponytail”!

Let’s face it.  There isn’t much variety in the hairstyles that fashion designers send down the catwalk every season in the fashion capitals; save for the haute couture collections where they get a little more creative. New York, of them all, sends out models in the NYFW in either a ponytail, a chignon, pouffy hair, or a variation of one of them.

I guess everyone’s aware of Emma Watson’s new hairstyle by now. Love it or hate it, quite a number of stars went for the short crop this year such that the “pixie cut” could probably be one of the more popular hairstyles in 2010.

Miss Glitzy is going gaga over The Braided Hair! It’s absolutely feminine and when paired with a romantic frilly/maxi dress, you look like goddess! But Miss Glitzy has short layered bob, so creating the braided do is an uphill task.

As spotted on celebrities and models:

The braided hairband is just so cute.  But for those who are trying to work this out, please don’t tie fat braids and risk looking like a milk maid:

DIY videos of :

1) Braided updo
2) Braided hairband
3) Bohemian tiara side braids (very cute!)
