Pardon me for my hiatus, as I was away on a two-week vacation in South Africa. It was such an amazing trip with so many wonderful memories in the Southern Hemisphere that I think I do need another break to get over this holiday.
I don’t even know how to get my photos together for a short post on my trip as I sift through all the photos from the holiday. This must be the vacation where I took the most number of pictures. Each part of the trip was a highlight and an amazing experience.

My obsession with purple continues from yesterday. It’s hard not to love this quirky collaboration from Printemps and Dior this Christmas.
Are your eyes glistening at the sight of this pair of purple pumps with a water brush painting of Paris?

The amazing thing about Singapore is how often I can actually get out of Singapore. My destination for the end of the month? Bali! What can be better than spending time with friends, seeing some sights and relaxing by the beach and our little private villa only 2 hours away?
As the high season arrives and your beach-bound travel plans start to take shape, remember that it’s never worth it for your outfits to cost more than your plane ticket.
Here are 3 Bali worthy outfits all under $150 USD thanks to budget-conscious stores Forever 21 (with plenty of retail outlets island-wide) and online favorite, ASOS.com. Complete with a Bali book to catch up on for the flight!

Undoubtedly, the highlight of my Italian vacation was my day trip to Capri – an island in the Tyrrhenian Sea. This is also the island where the Capri pants was made popular in 1956. Grace Kelly was said to be one of the first to wear capris there.
The island is a popular destination in summer. You can go to Capri via hydrofoil or ferry from Naples, Sorrento, Positano or Amalfi. We went to Capri via Naples.
On the hydrofoil!

By the time you are reading this, I am probably trooping around in the land of risotto and gelato, Angels and Demons, The Last Supper and David, as well as the smell of Prada and Bottega Veneta!
It has been a while since I take a long holiday – the last time I went away from my job for 2 weeks was my East Coast trip 3 years ago!
This is probably how I’m feeling right now – yours truly looking crazy in a hostel at Lake Kussharo, Hokkaido in 2009.
The exterior of Kussharo Genya Youth Hostel. If you intend to travel to Hokkaido, it’s best to rent a car and drive!
The common living and dining area of the guest house.
The only thing I dislike about the hostel is the lack of private bath and the common bath was Japanese style. But the daily breakfast and dinner, as well as the warm hospitality of the hostel owners, made the stay memorable.
I will be staying in some interesting B&Bs at Italy too and I am looking forward to it!
