I recently received the latest makeup items from Shiseido and Maquillage for Fall this year. Most of the new items this season are new colours to existing line, with the exception of the Shiseido Sheer and Perfect Compact and Maquillage Essence Glamorous Eyes!
In this increasingly complicated world, even applying a foundation is not so straightforward anymore. For a flawless finish, you could start from a makeup base or primer- oh and that’s after you have prepped your skin with your three or five steps skincare procedures – followed by BB or CC cream and/or liquid foundation and/or foundation compact and/or face powder.
Geesh! Before we think about the number of products we slap on our face, how many different types of foundation products do we have to deliberate and consider before we make the purchase?
So today, to make things complicated, I am going to discuss the Shiseido Perfect Hydrating BB Cream and the Maquillage True Liquid Moisture UV Foundation. I coined the latter as “FF” cream – which stands for “Flawless Foundation”. And yes, it’s just gonna get more mind-boggling after you finish reading this post. You have been warned!
In all honesty, having had the privilege to experience Maquillage products for several years, my impression with this Japanese makeup brand is : Not bad, well catered for Asian faces. I love their glossy rouges and always carry an eye shadow palette from the brand when I am travelling as their colours are neutral but flattering. Nonetheless, my liking towards Maquillage had never been strong or intense.
This feeling has changed though, for I am truly in love with their latest products.
The True Eye Shadow Palette is not new, so are the Essence Glamorous Rouge in OR292 and BE790.
I was going through my makeup collection, which has evidently ballooned over the last few years due to my alternative blogging “career”. I found possibly one of my oldest makeup items- a grand 8-year old – and I thought it would be fun to share little stories behind some of the cosmetics I own.
So, this post will be about my current blush collection. I believe I had more blush powders in my stash originally but I guess I had either finished a couple of the products and placed some of them in my office pouch or travel bag.
The second target of our “beauty pouch revelation” is Iris Chai, Assistant Brand Manager of Shiseido, based in Singapore.
Having known Iris since my very first encounter with Shiseido, this affable lady has been working at the company for more than 5 years, constantly keeping us abreast of the company’s new products and updating us with information on the latest season’s makeup trends and looks.
Of course, other than chatting about makeup, we had spent time talking about our common interests such as traveling, shopping and just life in general. My first question to Iris when I invited her for this series was somewhat made in jest. But yes, I am nosy like that.
“How many Shiseido products do you have in your beauty pouch?”

In what’s becoming a Christmas tradition for MsGlitzy.com, I have resurrected my guest contribution section again. This year, I have invited a few friends – who are also expert in the beauty arena - to share the contents of their beauty pouches. I am not sure whether you are curious about which items others are using, but I am definitely looking forward to their revelations!
The first person to kick off this series is Adlena Wong, PR practitioner at Platform Public Relations by day, home-proud and Donna Hay wannabe by night. Adlena’s first brush with beauty was at her first jobs – lifestyle, beauty and health writer at the leading female glossies in Singapore. With years of trial and error, her beauty favorites certainly do not come by chance but through personal experiences and interactions with beauty experts.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at what’s in her pouch!
This Autumn/Winter season, Shiseido suggests that we could go big on the eyes, using stronger and deeper eye colours matched with nude or lighter lip shades.
I guess this is a great look for glamourous year-end parties.
