In conjunction with the Republic’s jubilee, many brands have launched commemorative items to celebrate SG50. After all, this is a great occasion to launch something special, limited edition and celebratory!

I like that some of the brands also donate part of the proceeds from the sale of these items to some nation-building initiatives.

I had the opportunity to preview Montblanc’s upcoming new pieces at their media event last week. I have been on a look out for an entry level watch for a while and suffice to say, I spent most of the time at the event admiring Montblanc’s new timepieces.

There were several pieces from the Montblanc Meisterstück Heritage collection, which is inspired by the brand’s signature writing instrument Meisterstück that boasts a ninety-year heritage. I love the simple, elegant and classic design.

Montblanc Meisterstück Heritage Perpetual Calendar (left). A perpetual calendar tracks the day, date and month and typically only needs to be adjusted once per century. As a result, the mechanism is complicated and is demanding on the skills of the watchmakers. Montblanc’s Heritage Perpetual Calendar is also priced at an attractive range vis-à-vis similar offerings from competitors.

I had the opportunity to preview Montblanc‘s new watches and jewellery collection and my heart skipped a beat when I saw the following.

It’s a men’s watch, by the name of Montblanc Star Quantième Complet.

The concept of “Shop and Do Good” is not new. If you have been raring to go on retail therapy, why not help to support some meaningful causes along the way?

1. Montblanc “Signature for Good”

This year, Montblanc launched a special edition of writing instruments, jewellery pieces and leather accessories to raise at least $1.5 million dollars to UNICEF’s education programmes, focusing on the most vulnerable children, through the Schools for Africa and Asia initiatives, and programmes in Latin America.

All my lucky stars must have been aligned, as I had the opportunity to schmooze with Hollywood actor Dylan McDermott at a Montblanc party on Friday. Titled “Beauty of a Second”, the event celebrated the brand’s expertise of watch-making, as well as some of its intricate timepieces.

True to the element of “time”, I have put together my Instagram snapshots in a chronological order to describe my experience at the private event.

Starting off with the outfit of the day: Modcloth lace top, Uniqlo Ultra Stretch Jeans, Chanel bag.

The dress code on the invitation card said “Cocktail” but given that it was a casual Friday, I decided to ditch my dresses for skinny jeans!

As a blog that attempts to propagate classy, wearable styles, I find it incredulous that I have never blogged about Grace Kelly. Perhaps she was way before my time, but this lady was the inspiration of the famous Hermès Kelly Bag, the Capri pants and the recent jewellery collection at Montblanc.

Grace Kelly (or Princess Grace after her marriage) through the years. It is uncanny to see how her elegant and timeless dress outfits are actually feasible even in the current era.
