I find this showcase by the Australia-based designer particularly relevant – given that “The Great Gatsby” movie is out and glamorous flapper fashion is the hot topic in town recently.
To sum up, the Collette Dinnigan show was a romantic affair, accentuated by lace, leather and sequins. With loads of black, nude and white hues.
One common theme I observed from the various shows this Fashion Week season is that makeup colours have mellowed and hair colours have gone bigger and brighter.
Several designers had showcased their models in bare or natural makeup this season. Lips fluctuated from bright red to nude or beige. Fancy eye colours observed at previous Spring/Summer shows have been retired for mauve or taupe colours. On the crowning glory though, we see a variety of colours. Mint, pink, gold, green… just name it!
Narcisco Rodriguez – New York Fashion Week September 2011
The nail colour used on the models was Deborah Lippman’s “Waking up in Vegas”. The makeup and nail polish were deliberately subdued to divert all attention to the hair, and the actual Spring/Summer collection!
There was no surprise at the Erdem show last evening. The showcase was quietly stunning, mysterious and elegant. While I have gone through every single runway outfit on Style.com prior to the show, I still felt somewhat awed by the showmanship once the strum of violin began and the models started sashaying in flowy dresses with abstract water-colour prints.
The annual Audi Fashion Festival is coming to town again! Opening on 13th May, this year’s festival brings in a good mix of international and regional designers on the runway as well as international-acclaimed big names to Singapore.
Tickets are already on sale at $63-123 per ticket on Sistic. I have picked up some shows which I am kinda looking forward to!
13th May 2011, 7pm: Opening Show featuring Missoni AW 2011
Fashion is happy. I love every look from the Moschino Cheap & Chic Spring/Summer 2011 show in Milan! Rosella Jardini, the designer behind this label, continued to inject happy, carefree and feminine elements into her collection.
Purple. Animal Prints. Gold and Glitter. This was Mulberry’s interpretation of “Naughty Royalty” as observed at last night’s Autumn/Winter 2010 party. Held at Tanjong Beach Club, models strutted down the poolside runway with latest designs from the luxury English label.
