After sustaining my brown crowning glory for close to a year, I recently made a decision to head back to black. Part of the reason was because my hair quality require more attention having to through regular perming and colouring. As a result, I decided to ease back to my natural hair colour – so that I could still hold on to my favorite wavy hair style!
Additionally, looking at hair trends this year, there seems to be a preference towards darker hair colours!

I had a massive rescue project for my mane last month because it had became dry and frizzy from the colouring and perming that I have done. Moreover, due to the lack of time, I had not gone for a hair treatment for several months. Coupled with the recent colouring and perming in May, my hair condition deteriorated quickly.
My hair stylist, Justin, recommended that I get the Shiseido Salon Solutions Treatment. This treatment is slightly different from the others that I have tried at Shunji Matsuo because it has a stronger restoration effect on damaged hair.

For the closing show of Audi Fashion Festival this year, I decided to go for a dressier number to fit the night’s theme. After all, Oscar de la Renta is well-known for his va-va-vroom gowns!

If you do recall, I have coloured and permed my mane a while ago. Those procedures were extremely damaging to my hair and indeed, my hair style and colour looked great for far but the dry and brittle quality were obvious signs of distress.
In the bid to inject some life to my crowning glory and give it some TLC, Justin, my hairstylist at Shunji Matsuo recommended the Aveda Botanical Hair Therapy treatment. You could consider giving your hair a treat before the Chinese New Year festive season too!
The last time I coloured my hair, I was still in college. Since then, I have been sporting jet black hair. I thought I was saving myself some hassle from maintaining the hair colour, but obviously black doesn’t necessary work well for certain skintone.

My hair sponsor, Shunji Matsuo Hair Studio at Ngee Ann City has a collaboration with L’Oréal Professional Parisian Brown hair color collection and they suggested I could be matched a brown shade for a “Chic Brown Look”. I deliberated a wee bit – with questions in my head like “would having brown hair make me look better?”, “is it worth making a trip down the salon getting my hair coloured?” – and eventually with the intention to be open to all things new, I took up the offer.
As I have mentioned in one of my older posts, to maintain my curled hairdo, I need to go for a perm every 3 months. My mane has gone through digital perm on a quarterly basis, supplemented with hair treatment every 6 months as perming does have some not-so-good impact on the hair quality.
Today, I will be sharing my digital perm experience and the Caretrico Privy hair treatment from my hair sponsor, Shunji Matsuo.
I have been a supporter of Shunji Matsuo hair salon for a while, so I was really pleased when they approached me for their hair sponsorship programme.
My sponsor is the flagship salon Shunji Matsuo Hair Studio located at Ngee Ann City, and the stylist I have been assigned to is Justin!
I used to frequent the flagship salon when it was at the Heerens, before it moved to Ngee Ann City about a year ago. It was therefore a feeling of familiarity when I first stepped into the hair studio recently for my first appointment with Justin, a director hairstylist.
