I managed to snag a spacious hotel room at Causeway Bay for my recent Hong Kong trip and I really want to share this discovery with everyone!

As most of us know, housing unit in Hong Kong tends to be small and the same trend applies to many hotels there. Formerly known as JIA, a change in ownership resulted in its rebranding to J Plus Boutique Hotel. Despite this change, the hotel continues to boast its signature design by Philippe Starck and the stylish, chill-out ambiance that JIA was reputed for remains.

The hotel lobby, which is adorned with different Starck chairs. Complimentary breakfast and afternoon cakes are served here for hotel guests.

By the time you read this post, I am probably approaching my holiday destination – London! It has been a while since I last traveled and gosh I am literally brimming with excitement.

As always, I hope to look good on my pictures but I can’t possibly pack my entire wardrobe in the suitcase. I thought I could share with you some of my personal tips on how to maximise your wardrobe without over-packing.

For new readers, this post on mix and match, and this post on my travel beauty pouch might be helpful for you.

2010 in Shanghai. Was pondering whether to pack this houndstooth jacket to brave unexpected cold winds.

I had some free time in Hong Kong and I needed to break away from the comfort zone (i.e. Starbucks and Caffe Habitu). Thanks to a reader who sent me a list of coffee and cake places that I have to check out, I managed to end up at Le Salon de Thé de Joël Robuchon, in the Landmark at Central, Hong Kong.

Apparently, this place is quite popular for its afternoon tea!

It’s travel time again and I thought it would be fun to share what I carry in my travel beauty pouch. I usually over-pack and those in the know are often bewildered why I carry such a huge luggage for a 4-5 day trip. I have no clue either.

I was in Hong Kong for a week, but my schedule was so packed that I didn’t even have a chance to check out the Lanvin for H&M frenzy. By the time I had time for shopping, there was nary a thing from Lanvin in the H&M store at Canton Road.

I did, however, had some free time one evening and managed to checked out Sai Kung Town, known as the “Leisure Garden” of Hong Kong and located at the district of New Territories.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of my Italian vacation was my day trip to Capri – an island in the Tyrrhenian Sea. This is also the island where the Capri pants was made popular in 1956. Grace Kelly was said to be one of the first to wear capris there.

The island is a popular destination in summer. You can go to Capri via hydrofoil or ferry from Naples, Sorrento, Positano or Amalfi. We went to Capri via Naples.

On the hydrofoil!
