After the launch of the Suncare Foundation series last year, Shiseido released a new “Wet Force” Perfect UV Protector (i.e. sunscreen) in 2015. What’s different about this suncreen compared to their previous versions is the new technology, which allows the sun protection properties to get better when in contact with water!

If you have been reading enough beauty blogs… or have been always paid attention to new beauty products and their launches, you would probably be familiar with the idea of “enhanced” versions. Essentially, the same product gets some refinements or additional ingredients and the brand does a relaunch for the enhanced products.

This season, my two favourite sunscreens were enhanced and relaunched.  Clarins UV Plus Anti-Pollution Day Screen now comes with anti-pollution production, as well as in three shades – Translucent, Fairness and Rosy Glow. Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense has also been reformulated with stronger defense against UV rays.

With the sweltering weather lately, it’s almost mandatory to shield ourselves with sunblock before we step out. In fact, sun protection is essential every day despite of the weather because the harmful UV rays speed up the aging process of the skin.

As such, if you haven’t been loading up on sun protection, here are 2 new kids on the blog (pun intended). I have made a comparison across 4 different sunscreens previously, please read the post here.

The temperature has gone up and the sun is shining bright in this little island of ours. It’s time to block the UV rays out of our precious skin unless we want premature aging!

(Left to right)
1. Elizabeth Arden White Glove Extreme Brightening UV Protector SPF 50 PA+++ (S$79)
2. Shiseido Multi-Defense UV Protector SPF 50 PA+++ (S$59, to be launched in June)
3. Clarins UV Plus Day Screen High Protection SPF 40 UVA-UVB/PA+++(S$74, available in tinted and neutral versions)
4. Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++ (S$68 for 30ml).

Several skincare companies have launched their power UV defense products recently. I have gotten hold of the offerings from my favorite brands, as you can see from the above picture. One blanket statement that I would like to make having tried all 4 products is that these sun screens are all pretty decent, although they are priced towards the higher side. So the question is, which one gives you more bang for the buck?
