Watcha you doing this Valentine’s Day?
Single or in love, we could have fun during this occasion. Here are all the Valentine’s Day, heart-shape or sweet pinky-dovey items that would be great on the 14th day of February!
After a well-received first collection, White by Vera Wang strikes again with an updated Fall/Winter collection, complete with bridesmaid dresses!
Organza dress – US$198. Available in other colours.
For the uninitiated, White by Vera Wang is a lower-priced bridal collection designed by Vera Wang specially for David’s Bridal. The collection is currently only available at David’s Bridal stores in the US.
I have been exposed to so much love recently. And all these love seems to be happening in New York City.
Someone told me that NYC is a place where people go to pursue their dreams. Not many people expect themselves to settle down in the city, as such there is often not much commitment attached to a relationship. If this observation is true, then Tiffany & Co. is indeed dispelling that impression with their latest website and iPhone app named “What Makes Love True“.
By now, we have all seen and gushed at Kate Middleton’s elegant wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton of McQueen. Here’s a picture of the ravishing princess again!
I believe brides-to-be from all over the world are now considering a gown with sleeves, just like Kate! In a sea of strapless gowns, she has proven that one can look very elegant and sophisticated with lace sleeves. If you have conservative grandmas or mother-in-law and you don’t wanna spill too much cleavage on your wedding day, here are some modern gowns and styles with a traditional touch.
I wrote about the ease of buying your own wedding dress previously. Now, the news is Vera Wang has designed a more lower-priced collection – White by Vera Wang and this collection is available at David’s Bridal.
I’m not sure whether I should feel ashamed but I just discovered Vera Wang’s diffusion line, Simply Vera on Kohl’s.com. This full-fledged fashion line designed by Vera Wang has been in existence since 2007.
You see, Kohl’s.com is not exactly a trendy store. The target audience is a more matured age group, so the store tends to be more value-oriented and family-friendly.

As I went giddy following the runway looks on New York Fashion Week (NYFW), what really captivated me was the simplest design or that little touch that highlights the womanly figure. The Fall/Winter season is when temperature starts dipping and everyone gets big on the outerwear. So in my humble opinion, the drapey and smooth dresses could be a pleasant contrast to the thick and often sturdy outerwear.

And one of my favourites is the Vera Wang show. The series is a little downcast with monochromes, yet dreamy and mysterious with the use of organaza and silk. The designer worked black very well and made the shade very dimensional with the clever use of textures.
The collection is timeless, retaining a dash of uniqueness and fun. Me likey.
